Hot and Sour Soup

Thinking of something to warm your tummy on a cold day? This appetising soup is an awesome blend of sour, sweet, spicy and salty and so wholesome I can have a big bowl of it alone as a meal on it’s own!:)

Ingredients
Pork loin strips (marinated)
6 pcs dried black mushrooms, soaked and sliced thinly
10 small cloud ear, sliced thinly
1 bamboo shoot, sliced thinly
1 carrot, sliced thinly
1 pkt silken tofu, sliced into strips
2-3 slices of ginger
1 tsp finely chopped coriander, (optional)
chicken stock from boiled chicken bones(I added an inner fillet so I could shred the meat)
mushroom stock from soaked mushrooms

Seasoning
1 tbsp white vinegar
1 tbsp black vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp braising sauce
1 tbsp chili bean sauce
1/4 tsp ground white pepper
1 egg, beaten
1/4 tsp sesame oil
Potato starch paste for thickening

(Pork strips marinated with hua tiao wine, corn flour, pepper, chicken marinade)

1) put all the ingredients into the chicken stock and bring everything to a boil.

2) add in seasoning and boil for 30min. Thicken with potato starch.

3) Garnish and serve with white rice!

Or have a bowl or two of it on it’s own! Delicious!:)~~
